The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) says that the operation of the banking industry has largely resumed today.
With rigorous efforts by banking staff over the weekend in repairing the damaged facilities, banking services have generally resumed, except for some selected vandalized branches and ATMs where immediate full restoration is not possible. The average waiting time today is similar to first business days following long weekends. The banks have ample cash supply to refill ATMs across the city.
The HKAB reiterates that the banking system in Hong Kong is robust with ample liquidity to cater for cash withdrawal demands of the general public.
Members of the public can check the latest status of bank branch services on the website of the HKAB(hkab.org.hk).
