(6 March 2020) The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and its member banks have been closely monitoring the outbreak of the virus, and banks are committed to maintaining normal banking services to the public. To that end, banks will review their measures from time to time, and resume branch services when the situation allows, taking into consideration multiple factors including the safety of staff and customers, as well as customers' demand for banking services. The HKAB appreciates the public's understanding of such temporary arrangements, necessitated by the current exceptional situation.
The public may visit the websites of respective banks or the HKAB, or call the banks' hotlines for enquiries about branch service adjustments. The HKAB also encourages the public to access banking services via electronic means, such as mobile, internet and phone banking.
