(29 March 2020) The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and its member banks have been closely monitoring the outbreak of the virus, and review their measures from time to time to make appropriate arrangements. In response to the latest community efforts against the outbreak and the guidelines by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, banks will continue to implement crowd management measures in order to prevent and counter the spread of the virus in the community. The measures include adjusting queueing arrangements, suspending certain branch services, and stepping up sanitisation efforts.
The HKAB also encourages the public to access banking services via electronic means, such as mobile, internet and phone banking. If you must conduct transactions at a branch, please maintain good personal hygiene and wear a mask to protect yourself and others. The HKAB asks that the public support and follow these special arrangements in an effort to combat the outbreak together. We appreciate the public's understanding with regard to any inconvenience that may be caused.
