(1 June 2021) The Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) hosted a COVID-19 Vaccine webinar for the industry today with the help of a panel of medical experts. The event received very positive response with nearly 2000 participants from the industry joining the virtual talk. 

Moderated by Diana Cesar, Chairperson, HKAB, the webinar featured Professor Wallace LAU Chak-sing, JP, Head, Department of Medicine, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Honorary Associate Professor William CHUI Chun-ming, President, The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Hong Kong, and Dr Pak-yin LEUNG, SBS, JP, Member, Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. The panelists addressed a wide range of frequently asked questions about effectiveness and safety of COVID-19 vaccine, as well as debunked misunderstandings about COVID-19 vaccination.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, banks in Hong Kong have promptly adapted their operation to ensure a smooth running of critical functions and services that are essential to the wider public interest. In addition to providing information about the Hong Kong's community vaccination programme to staff, the industry has also taken steps to accommodate staff's vaccination appointments during working hours. HKAB will continue to monitor COVID-19 related guidance and coordinate with the industry accordingly.
