(2 June 2021) The Hong Kong Association of Banks ("HKAB") is pleased to announce that its member banks will join hands to contribute to a lucky draw in a move to encourage vaccine take-up in Hong Kong. 

Winners will take home HKD100,000 spending credit or shopping vouchers. All Hong Kong Identity Card holders (Permanent Residents and Non-Permanent Residents), who have already received both doses of COVID vaccines in Hong Kong, will be eligible to enter the lucky draw. HKAB is working on the details of the lucky draw with its Main Committee members. Details will be announced in due course. 

HKAB is of the view that vaccination offers Hong Kong the best path back to normal as a city and as an international financial centre. With ample vaccines supply and professional healthcare workers to administer the shots and provide aftercare, Hong Kong is well placed to achieve herd immunity soon if the general population gets behind the initiative. 

HKAB hosted a COVID-19 vaccine webinar for the banking industry yesterday with the help of a panel of medical experts. The event received very positive response with nearly 2,000 participants from the industry joining the virtual talk. 

Members of the public are advised to seek medical advice before vaccination, and when ready, book their COVID-19 vaccine via the Government's website at www.covidvaccine.gov.hk.
