Mr John Lee, the Chief Executive of HKSAR joins annual luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Association of Banks

21 November 2025 – The Hong Kong Association of Banks (“HKAB”) hosted the “Distinguished Speaker Luncheon” today and was privileged to have the Honourable Mr John Lee, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as the keynote speaker.

Also in attendance to show his support was Mr Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”), alongside over 250 industry representatives.

Ms Mary Huen, Chairperson of the HKAB, said, “2025 has been a year of connectivity for the HKAB, we have strengthened our connections with local and international stakeholders and created an impact well beyond the banking sector. We have expanded our circle of friends by reaching out to overseas chambers, industry associations and bankers to build longstanding ties in trade and investment. Meanwhile we formed a powerful alliance with the HKMA and the Hong Kong Police Force this year, to connect our community to fight against fraud and safeguarding our customers.”

To express our gratitude to our partners for their support in achieving the five key priorities of the HKAB, a partner appreciation session was held during the luncheon, recognising the contributions of our partners in upholding Hong Kong as an international financial centre, supporting SME upgrades and transformations, fostering customer protection and education, accelerating fintech advancement, and building a future-ready talent pool.
