Office Closure Notice for Public Holidays

HKAB Secretariat will be closed at 4:00 pm on the Lunar New Year Eve, 28 January 2025. We will resume normal operations on 3 February 2025 (Monday) after the public holidays on 29-31 January 2025.

Role

HKAB was created by The Hong Kong Association of Banks Ordinance, Cap.364 in 1981 to replace the Exchange Banks' Association. The Ordinance provides a framework for the Government to exchange views with the banking sector for the further development of the industry.

Code of Banking Practice

The Code of Banking Practice is a non-statutory Code issued on a voluntary basis and is updated from time to time in response to market developments and new or changes to relevant laws and regulations.
